AHEAD of Pembroke Dock’s Christmas Market, lantern procession and lights switch-on with Santa this Friday, Mayor Cllr Michele Wiggins has issued her Christmas message:

“On behalf of my fellow Councillors and staff at the Council, I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Throughout the year I’ve had the pleasure of participating in various events with a strong sense of unity and togetherness in Pembroke Dock. Celebrating 100 years of the Memorial Park was a highlight for me as well as our recent Chief Scout awards.

“As Mayor, I am grateful for the numerous opportunities I have had this year, and the wonderful people, businesses and communities I have met and worked with. I take particular pride in our Remembrance parade where our community all came together to express their respect for those who sacrificed their lives for us. May we never forget.

“It’s been an absolute privilege to be your Mayor enabling me to champion the town I call home and support local causes that are fundamental to our town and my own heart. Christmas is a time for giving and I thank you for helping to support my Mayoral charities: Paul Sartori and Forever 11. 2025 has been a very busy year for us with great events that celebrate and reflect the wonderful potential and recognition our town deserves.

“I would also like to recognise the hard work of all organisations and locals who have continued to help others to make Pembroke Dock a better place. Many in this community work tirelessly and heroically day in, day out. Our Town council awards was a wonderful event for those that go above and beyond for our community, recognising their achievements and celebrating their commitment. I have loved meeting the incredible groups and volunteers who help us to create a better community together.

“I would like to thank those who will be working over Christmas that look after us and keep us all safe – the emergency services and those who look after our loved ones. You are essential to our community and enabling us all to enjoy the holidays that much more. We appreciate your resilience, compassion and commitment to those in need.

“As we approach the beginning of 2026, it is imperative we carry forward all of the positive work myself, our Town Councillors and our Town Council are doing to preserve, protect and propel our town into the new year.

“I very much look forward to seeing you at the Christmas lights switch on this coming Friday, December 5 at 6.00pm. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
