ST Issell’s WI member Mary Sefton was speaker at the June meeting, telling the ladies of her musical journey through life.

Vice President Anne-Marie Littlewood, welcomed members to the meeting, with a special welcome to Mary.

Mary’s musical ‘autobiography’ started with her singing at three years old, and included the many choirs she had sung with, the choirs and orchestras she had conducted, and the many educational rolls she had undertaken.

Mary included various items of music which had played a significant part in her life, and her talk contained so much interesting information that our correspondent found it difficult to précis for a newspaper item. Janet Standing thanked Mary for a most entertaining talk, remarking on the exciting life she had led.

Following refreshments, Joan Parry was thanked for the flowers for the top table, and the only birthday girl in June was Jane Lee.

Those ladies who had attended the event in the Regency Hall for the Annual Meeting had enjoyed the day - especially the lunch which members had provided.

Anne-Marie read through the newsletter; there was some interest in the Treasure Hunt, the event planned for Heatherton later in the year, the crazy golf and the trip to the royal Welsh Show. Several ladies also showed interest in Chair Yoga which might take place in September.

This month’s competition winner was Jacquie Cowgill and Mary Howells was the lucky raffle winner.

Anne-Marie wished ladies a safe journey home, looking forward to the July meeting which will consist of games with refreshments.
