FUNDING for Whitland Community Shed has been successful, with a Crowdfunder campaign topping £1,000.

Community Sheds encourage people to come together to make, repair and repurpose, supporting projects in their local communities.

They are known to improve wellbeing, reduce loneliness and combat social isolation. So with this in mind and in conjunction with Parc Dr Owen a Crowdfunder was started with the aim of opening Whitland’s very own Community Shed right in the centre of town.

“We have premises,” explains the Crowdfunder, “but they need some minor repairs and alterations to create a warm and practical space - a space that can be used by the whole community to come and have a chat, have a coffee, or to create something special within our community.”
