WITH five-and-a-half tables in play at Penally Bridge Club on September 8, it was a closely fought afternoon with only seven points separating the first six pairs.

Geoff & Paul V took the honours with a top score of 58.85% just ahead of Paul B & Stuart with 57.81%. Brian & Hywel were 3rd with 54.17%. It was good to see the return of some players after an absence and the club welcomed new player Ros, partnering Nova. Players thank Paul B for directing the afternoon in the absence of Alan, on holiday.

Penally Bridge Club meets each Monday at 1.15pm in the Village Hall. Visiting players are always welcome. Anyone without a Bridge partner can contact Brenda on 01834 812132, who may be able to assist. Refreshments are provided and ample car parking is available. —JCG
