SUMMERHILL WI’s January meeting opened with a welcome to new member Flis Randall before an interesting talk by chiropractor Stephen Fellows, from Pembroke Chiropractic Clinic.
Stephen, who was accompanied by Ali and Christine, talked about treatment and exercise as well as a few demonstrations including one on member Belinda. Following many questions, he was warmly thanked by president Marlene before refreshments were served by Dawn, Belinda and Sue C.
The raffle was drawn with Kay the lucky winner.
The meeting continued with apologies noted and thanks to members for food bank donations. January proved a busy month for birthdays with greetings given to Marlene, Hilary, Margaret J, Linnia, Sue E and Jo.
Everyone agreed that the festive December meeting had been a great success and thanks were given to all who had supported the WI Carol Service at St Issell’s, Stepaside Chapel’s Candlelit Carol Service and the Christmas Tree Display at Begelly Church.
Upcoming events were discussed and it was agreed to enter the County Round this year. Members then discussed the 2026 Resolutions before making their choice.
The next meeting will be on Monday, February 9 in Amroth Parish Hall, Summerhill at 7pm when Henry VII and the rise of the Tudors in Pembrokeshire will be the subject of Michael Allen’s talk. Hostesses to be Hilary, Wendy and Sue H.
