BOTTLED water and Haribos - two essential items carried at all times by the teams of street pastors keeping our vulnerable people safe in Haverfordwest and Pembroke.
At the July 2025 Carew WI meeting, Pat, Derek and Billy shared a snapshot of what an evening on the streets of Haverfordwest can look like through the eyes of a street pastor. This dedicated team are out every Saturday watching over our vulnerable people and helping them to make sensible decisions to ensure their safety and well being.
This team of dedicated Christians, supported by prayer teams, are seen as trusted friends by the late night, early morning revellers who may need a helping hand or two. It’s not a calling for the faint hearted but volunteers are always needed for this essential work.
Nationwide, teams of people like Pat, Derek and Billy are on duty in our bigger cities and towns throughout the British Isles. Their dedication and presence is welcomed by not only the emergency services, parents and carers but also the vulnerable in our society.
Members applauded their commitment and thanked them all for looking out for those in need and for taking time out to attend Carew WI to tell their story.
Attention then turned to the business of the day. Members had all recently enjoyed a day out at Gareth’s kitchen in Lampeter: a cookery demonstration in the morning, a sumptuous lunch, a floral art lesson in the afternoon followed by homemade tea and cakes.

Everyone agreed that it was one of the best days out ever and expressed their thanks to Bronwen K for organising it.
Birthday greetings were shared and the County Letter was discussed before members disbanded and headed out into the sunshine.
