These were the scenes at The Commons, Pembroke, yesterday (Thursday) morning.
The flooding is being caused because there is a problem with the computer that controls the barrage, Pembrokeshire County Council has said.
"While the overflow arrangements will cope with normal conditions, a high tide will prevent any discharge and heavy rain will fill up the 'storage' in the system causing a flood on The Common," said the spokesman.
"A new system is on order which will cure the problem. However, in the meantime this flooding might re-occur.
"It is not a threat to a property as the tide will turn, allowing the water to drain away through the overflows long before it gets into any houses along the Commons Road."
