A loyal local cancer research fundraiser will be selling her Christmas cakes once again this year for charity.

Maureen Lower MBE who has been making and selling real traditional Christmas cakes to aid various charities for over 25 years, will once again be selling her selection at Tenby’s Cancer Research Shop on Tudor Square from today (Friday) and over Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

Maureen, who lived in Berlin for 42 years, and now resides in Kilgetty, was awarded the MBE from Her Majesty the Queen in 2003 for her volunteering work, and the German Medal of Merit.

This year she has managed to make a magnificent 148 cakes for sale with all proceeds going towards Cancer Research UK.

Earlier this year Maureen was able to present a donation of £870 to two cancer charities on World Cancer Day following another festive fundraising bake-off.
