Just about every 2 metres they frequently encountered cigarette ends proving that an unhealthy habit also leads to unsociable lifestyles. It’s a pity the smokers do not discard of their dog ends in the proper manner.
Teachers and volunteer Rotarians joined them in the exercise which also had environmental spin-offs. The children learned the difference between recyclable items and unsavoury waste that has to go to landfill.
In Narberth, President Elaine presented leaving certificates the Narberth primary School pupils who were part of the RotaKids group. During the past twelve months they had been involved in intergenerational activities with lonely people some with Dementia and others with health problems.
Prior to the presentation the leavers assembly, consisting of other pupils who will be going on to Secondary Schools next term, gave a performance of music and song to an audience of parents and teachers.
