Twelve members of Penally WI braved the wet weather to attend an informative Gin Tasting at the Cranny in Tenby recently (writes K.R.). The meeting was a great success and the members enjoyed tasting a selection of gins from the Amalfi region of Italy.
Our host Charlotte had set up a range of gins in the gin-tasting lounge. She explained that the character of gin changes with the type of tonic that is added. The first gin we tasted was a sipping gin that can be drunk neat without any tonic, but she suggested an elderflower tonic to complement the taste of the gin. We sampled further gins including a Blood Orange and a Rhubarb. The Cranny stocks a huge range of artisan gins, the most popular being Tenby Gin.
After the presentation, we held a short business meeting and Karen circulated the Newsletter. June and Val will be attending the Federation Dinner on? July 6. Doreen then discussed the arrangements for our July meetings. We will be holding two meetings; a business meeting on July 9 at The Paddock Inn, Penally, and a Mystery Trip on July 16, which will include afternoon tea.
Penally WI usually meets in the village hall on the second Tuesday of every month commencing at 2.15 pm.
New members and visitors are always welcome. Enquiries: please contact Doreen at the village shop.
