Following the launch of their ambitious new singing project, Span Arts, Narberth are searching for missing voices.
‘Raise Your Voice Pembrokeshire’ will bring together people aged 0 - 99 to sing in unison for a record-breaking attempt and charity fundraiser. So far, they have signed up around the half the singers needed for the attempt, with some gaps in the 20s, 30s, 80s and 90s age groups.
Nia Lewis of Span Arts said: “If you’re planning on including singing in your New Year’s resolutions then getting involved in this project could be a great start to 2020. It’s lots of fun and everyone is welcome.”
Two community singing days are planned for January 5 and February 2, 10.30 am - 3.30 pm at The Queens Hall, Narberth, the songs are taught in four-part harmony, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly and you are invited to bring a lunch to share.
The ‘Raise Your Voice Pembrokeshire’ event will close the Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival 2020 in feelgood style on February 16 from 2 pm. The project, which is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, will promote inclusivity by reaching out to and working with a diverse range of people in care homes, local schools and community groups as well as community choirs and individuals across the region.
The Narberth A Cappella Voice Festival 2020 is back after a break with a fantastic line-up including Semi-Toned, Ye Vagabonds and Durga Ramakrishnan, as well as a raft of exciting new workshops which include choral activism, Georgian and Corsican and a Singing Feast.
