McCarthy and Stone’s Paxton Court development celebrated Her Majesty’s birthday on April 21 with a special charity coffee morning to raise funds for the cause
A cheque for £605.70 was presented to Wales Air Ambulance Tenby shop manager Micaela Poole this week from the fundraiser, at sum which will raise to £757.13 thanks to the ‘gift aid’ scheme.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to the residents at Paxton Court for their amazing support and kind donation,” said Micaela.
“As a charity, we rely on the support of the people of Wales to keep our helicopters flying.
“The lifesaving donation from the residents at Paxton Court will help us to come to the aid of people across the country!” she added.
The homeowners, along with their house manager, Jackie Rees, decorated Paxton Court with Union Jack bunting and flags, putting everyone in a festive and patriotic mood.
The house manager plus the homeowners had also been busy baking to raise funds with a cake sale, whilst there was generous donations from the community for an extensive raffle.
Guests enjoyed birthday cake and wine for a midday toast to the Queen, coinciding with the official gun salute in London.
