Kilgetty’s RAOB Club will host a special charity do tonight (Friday) to raise funds for The Little Princess Trust.
The venue’s stewardess Mel Caudwell and her daughter Tamzin will be losing their long locks for the occasion as they undergo the chop at the trusty hands of local hairdresser Leah Fouracre, so they can donate their hair to the charity which provides real hair wigs, free of charge to children and young adults that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses.
“Our hair will be going straight to The Little Princess Trust so that a wig can be made to help one young princess out there and all the money from sponsor forms will also be going to make more wigs for other princesses who need it,” said Mel.
“I was saddened to hear how many children lose their hair for various reasons and the fact that they cannot get real hair wigs free on the NHS. Each wig costs £350 each and only lasts 4 to 6 months. This particular charity can help a child overcome so much,” she added.
The fundraising event kicks off at 7.30 pm at the Club located on Station Road, with a raffle being held as well on the night, along with karaoke fun and of course plenty of refreshments.
Donations can be made through Mel and Tamzin’s fundraising webpage at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/littleprincessestrust
