Sir,

In November of last year the Lions Club of Tenby made a generous donation for the purchase of plants to enhance the entrance to Tenby Cemetery at Slippery Back, to include the surrounding two historic oak trees.

The plants took well and further enhancements are planned. On the morning of Friday, February 8, it was noticed that an attempt had been made to uproot one of the more attractive plants, a beautiful flowering red Skimmia bush, which had begun to mature well. It was replanted and stakes placed to secure it.

Sadly, by Saturday morning, it had been uprooted and stolen.

So we have a local charity organisation, raising money, work by volunteers to enhance an area of the town supported by Tenby in Bloom culminating in the actions of a common thief. Sad times.
