Narberth CP?School have received a boost from a housing devleoper’s ‘Community Champions’ scheme.

The School located on Jesse Road has bagged £1,000 after being named amongst the latest good causes to secure funding through Persimmon Homes’ Community Champions scheme.

The school is trying to expand its outdoor educational programme and has been busy creating an eco-friendly allotment.

Each month Persimmon Homes donates up to £2,000 to community groups in each of its 32 geographical operating areas.

This means up to £64,000 is dished out every single month – a total of £768,000 a year, and more than £2million since the scheme started back in 2015.

Nia Ward, headteacher at Narberth School, said: “We created our allotment so pupils can grow fruit and vegetables as part of their education on healthy eating and living.

“This money will allow us to create a path so that the allotment is accessible to all.”

Sharon Bouhali, sales director at Persimmon Homes West Wales, said: “We’re delighted to support fantastic good causes.

“Narberth School is working hard to become more inclusive.”
