It was carnival time in Pembroke Dock on Saturday.
The annual Pembroke Dock Harlequins RFC Carnival started at Albion Square at 1.30 pm, led by honoured guests, Clr. and Mrs. Andrew McNaughton, Mayor and Mayoress of Pembroke Dock, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Usher and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Lloyd, president of Pembroke Dock Quins RFC.
Carnival Queen Brooke Gibby and her attendants Casey Hughes and Rebecca Osborne followed the guests.
The colourful and lively procession also featured the Vibe School of Dance, a steam engine, various fancy dress entries and floats from the Pembroke and Pembroke Dock Lions, Smurfs World, Harry Potter and The Hillbillies.
The judges commented on how high the standard of floats and fancy dress entries was this year.
After much debate, the judges concluded that there would be a joint float winner shared between Harry Potter and Smurfs, with The Hillbillies and the Lions entry as runners-up.
In the fancy dress section, the winners were Anthony and Cleopatra, second place was the Ugly Bug Ball and third was Rapunzel, Peter Pan and Little Devil.
There was a full programme of events that took place throughout the day, including Phil the Magician, Bongo Clive, Vibe School of Dance, Pembroke Borough Silver Band and the annual five-a-side competition.
The fields were packed with visitors who visited the many attractions on the field, such as the fun house, bouncy castles, fair stalls, helter-skelter, bungee runs, surf simulators, to mention but a few.
Carnival chairman Mike Scourfield was very impressed with the turnout of the public and also the hard work of all his colleagues at Pembroke Dock Quins RFC.
Pembroke Dock Quins RFC would like to thank all their carnival sponsors for the help they received in making the event a success.
