Sir,
Among the contents was a Colt Dragoon Revolver, dated about 1850-51, which came into my possession. Unfortunately my grandfather himself died not long after, so I was unable to obtain any of the history of this revolver. I am keen to learn more about Miss Clifton, and how she came to be in possession of this revolver.
Just by way of speculation, Miss Clifton’s father could have been in his 20s or 30s when the revolver was manufactured, so it could have belonged to him. Where did he serve? In which regiment, etc.?
I would be grateful if anyone with good historical knowledge of Penally in the first half of the 20th Century, can provide any information.
