Sir,

Pembrokeshire County Council has wasted money on various projects, most notably the over-hyped salary of Mr. Parry Jones. Now the cabal (sorry, cabinet) has to rein in their spending.

This should not mean removing support for the most vulnerable in our society and their families and carers.

The closure of the Avenue Centre should never have been contemplated. What or who decided that this would be a move ‘to a service that creates dependence to allow users to live as independently as possible’? Who wrote this report?

I have been involved in this field of work all my life and I have never heard such callous, ill-informed nonsense.

This decision/proposal has to be reconsidered.

Mrs. Jane K. Brewer,

Rose Cottage,

Redberth.
