Lifeboat week which ran from July 30 to August 4 was a very busy time for Saundersfoot RNLI.

Members were kept busy collecting at the Co-operative Food Store in Kilgetty and Tesco Express in Saundersfoot. Other members manned the souvenir stalls on Saundersfoot Harbour.

The following amounts were collected: New Inn Amroth (£11.45), Temple Bar Amroth (£8.14), Trevayne Farm Caravan Park (£117.85), Co-op Collection (£419.82), Tesco Collection (£434.08), One member did a village collection (£85.33), Stall Box (£48.85), Amroth Stall Box (£41.54), Whirligig (£93.73), Donations (£6.45).

Total raised was £1267.24, with £882.20 of Souvenirs were sold during the week, leaving a grand total of £2149.44.

Saundersfoot committee would like to thank the Harbour Managers and Harbour Commissioners for giving their permission to collect on the Harbour, The Co-operative Food Store Kilgetty and Tesco Express Saundersfoot for allowing members to collect in their stores, also all the businesses who supported them with their collections.

Thanks also go to the people of Saundersfoot, Wisemans Bridge, Amroth and surrounding areas and all the holiday makers for their generous contributions.

Sadly, the planned goodwill visit of Tenby Lifeboat had to be cancelled this year due to adverse weather conditions.

Other news - on Thursday the, September 6, we had a very enjoyable evening when Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir sang for us in the Regency Hall Saundersfoot. It was a pleasure to welcome them once again and we thank them for helping us with our fundraising.

The committee have organised a few fundraising events during September and October, starting with a visit from Carmarthen Ukulele Band who will be playing on Saundersfoot harbour on Sunday from 1.30 pm (weather Permitting).

We have our annual Fish and Chip Supper on October 12 at The Boathouse Restaurant, Cambrian Terrace, Saundersfoot.

Our Autumn Coffee Morning on October 25 from 10.30 am will also be at The Boathouse Restaurant.
