Volunteers from the Pembrokeshire group of MacMillan Cancer Support have been very busy in the last few days attending fund-raising events across Pembrokeshire.
Nicola, Monica and Pauline attended a meeting of the Classic Car Club at Haverfordwest Cricket Club, where they were presented with a cheque for £4,000 raised at the Classic Car Club’s annual Classic Car Show at Scolton Manor.
Grateful thanks must go to Peter and his team for raising such a fantastic amount of money. That money will go towards supporting people in Pembrokeshire with a cancer diagnosis.
On Saturday, Monica, Lauren and Dennis attended a Macmillan coffee morning organised by Sally Yelland and Rhianne Cole at Furzy Bank Community Hall in Haverfordwest. The event was well supported by friends and family, but as yet it is not sure how much money was raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The weekend concluded with a visit on Sunday to the Begelly Arms in order to accept a cheque on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support following a very successful coffee morning. The event, organised by Bryan and Gwenda Mason and their daughter Dawn, raised a magnificent sum of over £2,500. The coffee morning was well supported by family and friends and the Mason family were very grateful for the continued support. Dennis gave a short acceptance speech and he assured the family that the money raised would go to helping cancer patients in Pembrokeshire.
Forthcoming events include a sponsor night at Vincent Davies store in Haverfordwest and a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ night at the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot.
