On learning that the bank HSBC intends to close its Tenby branch, Mayor of Tenby Sam Skyrme-Blackhall said on the Facebook group Tenby Together:

“This is very disappointing that our last bank has made this announcement.

“People in communities are loyal to banks, but it seems that these days banks have stopped caring about communities.

“We are fortunate to have an excellent Post Office, but they cannot be expected to pick up everything. In some places community hubs have been developed to provide access to banking services. I am arranging a discussion to explore these options. If anyone feels they could contribute to that, please message me.”
