GROVE of Narberth, an independently owned boutique country house hotel in Pembrokeshire, has been named number 3 in the 2025 Top 50 Boutique Hotels, a benchmark of excellence across the UK and Ireland.
Curated by leading industry experts, hoteliers, travel writers and hospitality specialists, the Top 50 Boutique Hotels list celebrates independent properties that stand out for their service, atmosphere, identity and culinary creativity.
When Neil and Zoe Kedward purchased Grove in 2007, the property was derelict. Over nearly two decades, it has been carefully restored and reimagined as a relaxed country retreat, surrounded by 26 acres of gardens and woodland. Each of the 25 rooms and suites has been individually designed to balance heritage, craftsmanship and comfort, creating spaces that feel personal, characterful and connected to place.

Neil Kedward, CEO and Founder expressed gratitude to the industry experts who voted, and pride that the hotel should be named “alongside so many inspiring independent hotels across the UK.”
This latest accolade follows executive chef Douglas Balish’s Hotel Chef of the Year award at the Hotel Cateys 2025. His produce-led, seasonal approach underpins both of the hotel’s restaurants, the 4 AA Rosette fine-dining Fernery, and the more relaxed Artisan Rooms Brasserie. Menus are inspired by the hotel’s two-acre kitchen garden and a close network of local growers, farmers and fishermen.

General Manager Karen de Koning said: “This recognition means a great deal to us. Everyone at Grove of Narberth cares deeply about creating a warm, welcoming environment where guests feel genuinely looked after. To see that reflected in this year’s Top 50 list is incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to the passion, skill and kindness of our team, who bring the spirit of Grove to life every single day.”
