A whopping total of £4,827 was raised for Pembrokeshire Cancer Support as a result of a fundraising walk undertaken by Murco Petroleum employees earlier this year.

This total includes £1,846 from Murco Refinery's match-funding scheme.

With the aid of OMRON pedometers, the employees collectively walked a massive 4,757 miles, which is the equivalent distance that connects the Bonny Light Crude Oil Fields in Nigeria to the Milford Haven Refinery.

At a special presentation buffet lunch on Tuesday afternoon, the money raised was presented to Lyn Neville, charity co-ordinator, and Audrie Lewis, treasurer, both of Pembrokeshire Cancer Support.

Natalie Britton, economics and planning manager, plus the organisers of the whole event, Helen Greenish and Michelle Noakes, are pictured presenting the cheque to the nominated charity.
