Members of the fundraising Wolverhampton Bobsled team, who recently dressed up paying homage to Cool Runnings, to take on the Tenby 10k run were able to present their donation to the town’s RNLI lifeboat station this week.

The total amount raised was an amazing £1,142.42, which was dedicated to the late Roger Thomas BEM, who was Deputy Launching Authority for many years at the station. His son Neil was on hand to receive the cheque from fundraisers Neil Hendy and Andy Newman, along with Phil Rees, Tenby Lifeboats Operations.

“Many thanks to the people of Tenby along with holiday makers who donated over that weekend,” said Andy.

“All funds kindly donated will help greatly towards the running costs of the station, and saving lives. It was also great to have Rodger's son Neil Thomas at the presentation who also helped with the fundraising.

“We also would like to thank the crew members who were there Monday evening for showing us around the boat before their launch,” he added.
