This week’s Blast from the Past looks back 40 years to the late 1970s when the then Prime Minister James Callaghan (fourth from right) literally made a flying visit to Tenby for a conference in the resort. He arrived by helicopter at the town’s Heywood Lane rugby ground, before being transported to the De Valence Pavilion where, among others, he was welcomed by chairman of the now defunct South Pembrokeshire District Council, the late Ben Willliams (fourth from left).
