Pembroke Town Hall was buzzing with life last Wednesday afternoon as people turned out to support 'The Big Cuppa'.

Organised by Sophie Merrix and Jonathon Beharral, the afternoon sought to highlight the plight of the poor and persecuted.

"I was thrilled to see Sophie and Jonathon receive such enthusiastice support," said Rob James, Pastor of Westgate Chapel, Pembroke.

"Their concern for others less fortunate than themselves is an expression of God's love and concern and I am sure they did more than raise money, they planted seeds in many a person's heart and mind. Who knows what will develop in the months and years to come.

"I can't wait to see what happens when Sophie is in Bolivia working with families living on the streets. I am sure she will be blessed, but I know that she will also prove a blessing too. I admire her courage and her willingness to give up her job to do this; she is an inspiration to us all."
