A fanfare will herald the diamond anniversary celebrations of two organisations based in Pembroke Dock.
The Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority have joined forces to host a charity concert in March to celebrate their 60th anniversaries.
The Band of the Welsh Guards, playing by kind permission of Major General GPR Norton CBE, will join the choir for an evening of music on Tuesday, March 20, at the Garrison Chapel, Pembroke Dock.
Half the proceeds of the anniversary concert will go to the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust and half to the Welsh Guards Afghanistan Appeal.
The chairman of the National Park Authority, Clr. Tony Brinsden, said: "Although Pembroke and Pembroke Dock are not part of the National Park, the authority's head office is in Pembroke Dock. So this concert is a small but fitting way in which we, as a large local organisation, can support the community of which we are proud to be a part.
"This will be the first time the Welsh Guards have played in Pembrokeshire in a concert in 10 years and I'm sure they'll raise the roof of the Garrison Chapel - a superbly restored classical Georgian Church in Pembroke Dock... and a first class concert venue."
Pembroke and District Male Voice Choir chairman Frank Harries said: "The Band of the Welsh Guards performed in our 50th anniversary concert, and we are delighted that they are able to join us once again, especially as we are performing in the Garrison Chapel where I remember taking part in variety shows when I was a young man.
"In addition, we are grateful for the support we are receiving from the National Park Authority, as we both celebrate our Diamond Jubilee."
The choir will be conducted by Christine Lloyd and accompanied by Jenny Griffiths, while the band's director of music is Lieutenant Colonel S. C. Barnwell.
The concert is at 7.30 pm on Tuesday, March 20. Tickets cost £12.50 and are available from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority head office in Llanion Park, Pembroke Dock (cash or cheque payment only).
