The National Baking Week initiative this week inspired an encouraging community effort in Pembroke Dock on Tuesday.

A Bake Sale in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital was arranged by Hesed Christian Fellowship. People from several Pembroke Dock churches baked for the sale, or came as customers to support the event. The event was hosted by Bethel Baptist Church, and was carefully planned so that sales could be continued next day at the very popular Bethel Restaurant which is held at lunchtime every Wednesday.

The organisers were delighted to have the help and support of Surehaven Nursing Home. Not only were some baked goods sent, but some of the residents made up the bunting from the http://www.nationalbakingweek.co.uk">www.nationalbakingweek.co.uk website to decorate the stalls.

At least two people present have grandchildren who are currently being treated by the Great Ormond Street Hospital The event raised £150.
