Sixteen pupils from Pembroke Dock Community School took part in the Dyfed Primary Schools Athletics meet in Carmarthen on Monday. The first event was the 70m hurdles. Liam Williams and Jamie Evans qualified for the hurdles final and were 6th and 8th, respectively. Lillie-Ella Boswell also qualified for the girls final in hurdles and won a silver medal. She will now go on to represent Dyfed in the Inter-Counties match at Swansea in July! Kieran Smith was 7th in the 800m final. Thomas Donovan and Paris Lawrence both qualified for the 100m final and came 8th. Nia Williams and Ryeley Clark competed in the shotput and were 4th and 5th, respectively. Holly Bourner and Dannie Wilkes took part in the long jump and came 5th and 6th, respectively. The evening culminated in the 4 x 100m relays. Both boys and girls team qualified for the final. The team of Thomas Donovan, Kieran Smith, Kobey Thomas and Steven Brown were placed 6th. The girls team of Lillie-Ella Boswell, Holly Bourner, Paris Lawrence and Louise Mear narrowly missed a bronze medal and were placed 4th. The whole team were placed 6th overall.
