On Thursday (May 15) Dr Rhianydd Biebrach, project officer for the HLF funded project Saving Treasures, Telling Stories, will give a talk at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery entitled ‘Beneath Our Feet – Treasure and Portable Antiquities from South Pembrokeshire relating to Medieval Trade’.

The ‘Saving Treasures Project’ is a partnership project between Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales, The Federation of Museums and Art Galleries of Wales and the Portable Antiquities Scheme in Wales.

It aims to promote the portable archaeological heritage of Wales through acquiring finds made by the public.

‘Beneath Our Feet’ is part of this larger project and is a joint venture between Tenby Museum and Narberth Museum and Saving Treasures; Telling Stories.

A display will be put on at Tenby Museum shortly featuring finds in the collections of member museums of the Pembrokeshire Museums Association (PMA) as well as finds loaned by Pembrokeshire Prospectors. This talk is part of this project.

If you are interested in finding out more about portable archaeological finds and medieval trade in relation to Pembrokeshire then this fascinating talk is a must.

Tickets are available from Tenby Museum, priced at £5 (£4 for Friends of Tenby Museum members).
