Sir,
May I through your newspaper thank all the people who responded to my appeal for anyone who knew Arthur Williams. There are still a few of us around who went through aircrew training in the early ’50s to end up as Air Signallers in either Coastal Command or Bomber Command.
‘Taffy’ Williams was one of those and and I shared a room with him at RAF Upwood. It would have been nice for us to meet up with him, but he sadly died in 2003 after achieving meritorious acclaim in the Education area.
I have been coming to Tenby for 60 years or so after Arthur’s recommendation. It is a lovely place, hardly changed in 60 years, and I shall keep coming back until I am not around. Please keep it so.
Trevor Morris,
Lichfield,
Staffs.
PS. I introduced my third generation to Tenby a short while ago.
PPS. I hope to celebrate my diamond wedding in Tenby June 1, 2017.
