WWI was the theme of the second major exhibition presented by the Saundersfoot Historical Society, appropriately timed to coincide with the centenary of the outbreak of the 'War to end all Wars'. The exhibition ran for seven days at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, and a record number of people visited during this time. Over 1,400 signed the visitors book and this was made up of 233 children and 1,167 adults. The comments book was also full of compliments and praise for the research and work that had been carried out in preparation by the members of the Historical Society committee, and the quite amazing facts that were revealed as a result. The Home Life that continued during the four war years was of great interest, an angle that could be completely overlooked in the normal course of events reporting on the war. The Saundersfoot Historical Society are very grateful to everyone in the community who lent their previous WWI artefacts and memorabilia, also to Saundersfoot Community Council and PLANED, for their sponsorship and support. A special thanks must go to Penny Brace and Mick Booth for their hours of planning, research and building of some of the exhibits that were quite exceptional. During the final days of the exhibition on the Thursday, 24 Army cadets paid a visit and were so moved by what they saw, held an impromptu service as a very appropriate ending to a fantastic exhibition.
