Over the last 18 years, members of the 3rd Pembroke Cub pack have taken part in the sponsored RNLI fun walk at Castlemartin ranges, raising money for the lifeboats.

This year, their second camp fell on the date of the walk, which meant they would not be able to be involved.

As we all know, though, the Cubs' motto is to 'do their best', and this they certainly did, as undaunted by the situation, they came up with the idea of an alternative.

Instead of Castlemartin, they undertook another walk on the same day, at the same time, starting from Goodwick Scout Hall, around the coast path overlooking the bay, on into Fishguard and then back into Goodwick.

Eleven Cubs, plus four leaders and a young Guide on her Duke of Edinburgh link, enjoyed the walk. The weather was sunny and happily just held out for the duration.
