A man alleged to have committed animal cruelty offences near Whitland is set go on trial.
Thirty-eight-year-old Matthew Jones, of Jones Street, Tonypandy is accused of interfering with a badger set; and attempting to kill a badger in the vicinity of Ysgubor, Llanfallteg.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on January 20.
Mr. Jones is also accused of failing to ensure the welfare of a black terrier dog between January 6 and 20 in the vicinity of Tonypandy.
A trial date was set for Thursday, January 9 at the Haverfordwest Court.
Mr. Jones was released on unconditional bail.
