A man has been warned a jail sentence could follow after he admitted charges of wounding and affray following a violent incident in the centre of Tenby.

Ashleigh Palfreyman, aged 26, appeared before Judge Paul Thomas at Swansea crown court today (Thursday) for a plea and trial preparation hearing.

Palfreyman, of Pen Isa Coed, St Thomas, Swansea, admitted wounding Simon James on June 30 last year and an offence of affray.

The court heard that Palfreyman had convictions for similar offences in the past and had been jailed in 2014, but had been out of trouble since being released in 2015.

Judge Thomas agreed to sentence Palfreyman on April 26 to allow a probation officer time to prepare a report into his background.

He granted Palfreyman bail meanwhile but warned "not to read into that for one minute" that he would not go to prison.
