Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old male following a sexual assault in Tenby last week.
Andrew Edwin Check, of Greenhill Avenue, entered no pleas when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Monday, after being charged with a sexual assault at a residential property in the town, which is alleged to have occurred sometime during the early hours of Monday, January 9.
The defendant has been remanded in custody and will appear at Swansea Crown Court on February 17 for a hearing.
Dyfed-Powys Police conducted house to house enquiries and carried out searches of the local area as part of the investigation, as well as setting up a CID Incident Room in Pembroke Dock.
“Following a thorough investigation into a sexual assault at a residential property in Tenby on Monday, January 9, police have arrested and subsequently charged a 29-year-old man,” said a police spokesperson.
“We would reassure the public that this was an isolated incident, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with it.
“The female victim is continuing to be supported by specialist officers,” they added.
