Tenby’s all-weather lifeboat the Haydn Miller was launched at around 3.45 pm on Wednesday (September 30), following a radio broadcast picked up by the Coastguard from a vessel calling for assistance after suffering engine failure.
Without a location for the vessel, the volunteer crew were initially tasked to search towards Pendine, but on arrival, with nothing found and no vessels answering on radio, the lifeboat was requested to perform a further offshore search towards Stackpole.
On reaching Stackpole after a thorough search and with nothing on radar, answering by radio or reported missing, the lifeboat was stood down to return to station, arriving at 5.40 pm.
