A Swansea man caught drink-driving on a road near Saundersfoot has been banned for 18 months.
Fifty-two-year-old William Watley, of Penclawdd, pleaded guilty to driving his Ford Kuga with 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, when he appeared at Haverfordwest magistrates court, on Tuesday.
The defendant also admitted a charge of being in possession of 1.9 grams of herbal cannabis at the same hearing.
Prosecutor Sian Vaughan told the court that police officers became aware of a couple arguing in their car in the Wooden area on September 9.
“Mr. Watley was breathalysed and found to be intoxicated. He told officers that the cannabis was for medicinal purposes,” she explained.
Magistrates disqualified Mr. Watley from driving for 18 months and fined him £120 for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £30 victim surcharge.
