Local police are looking into the theft of lead from the roof of a church in Saundersfoot.

Some time between Thursday, December 20, 2018 and Tuesday of this week, a large quantity of lead was removed from the roof at St. Issell’s Church, Saundersfoot, by person/s unknown.

A post on St. Issell’s Facebook page appeared on Wednesday which said: “We were saddened yesterday to discover that someone has stolen the lead from the roof of our church tower. This is obviously in the hands of the Police, but if any local people drive past the church and observe any suspicious behaviour or indeed saw something out of place between December 20 and January 5 then we would ask you to report it to the Police on 101. Please do not approach anyone in any circumstance.”

But despite this setback for St. Issell’s Church, it’s business as usual: “We have lots to be thankful for and are looking ahead with positive thoughts.”
