Tenby’s RNLI?and coastguard teams offered safety advice to people cut-off by the tide in the resort after they responded to two incidents over the Bank Holiday weekend.
On Saturday (April 21), both lifeboats were requested to launch just after 4.15 pm, after Milford Haven Coastguard received multiple reports of persons cut-off by the tide at First Bay just off Tenby’s North Beach.
The boats were quickly on scene and were directed towards the casualties by ex-RNLI lifeboat ‘Mary Gabriel’- now a passenger vessel.
The inshore lifeboat went into the rocks and took off the six persons and a dog, before dropping them aboard the all-weather lifeboat.
They were then taken back to the lifeboat station, where they were met by Tenby’s Coastguard Rescue Team who gave them safety advice.
Tenby RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 4.45 pm the following day after receiving a report of persons cut off by the tide again at First Bay.
The lifeboat was quickly on the water, and on the scene within minutes.
The two people, who were cut off by the incoming tide, were quickly located by the volunteer crew.
Once aboard the inshore lifeboat, they were dropped ashore at Tenby, where safety advice was given by the coastguard team.
