Did you know your local fire station is a safe haven for anyone in need?
This includes domestic abuse victims, children and teenagers in unsafe or threatening situations, and anyone else in need of a safe haven.
Pembrokeshire Community Hub is helping to get the word out from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MAWWFRS) that all their fire stations are a safe haven - until help can be arranged from an appropriate service like the police, parents, a specified domestic violence organisation or any other service.
If your nearest station is not manned 24/7 don’t worry: you can ring 999 and the fire station will be opened remotely for you to take shelter until a trained fire service crew is able to arrive on site.
“We’re always open and we’re always here for you.”
