Tenby’s RNLI inshore lifeboat was requested to launch at 8 pm on Thursday (July 19), following a report to the Coastguard that a male had walked fully clothed into the sea at the South Beach and was now struggling to swim.
The lifeboat was quickly on scene and located the casualty some way offshore.
He was taken aboard and checked over and it was decided that due to being cold and having ingested an unknown quantity of water, it was best to request an ambulance.
On arrival back at the harbour, they were met by Tenby Coastguard Rescue team who had also been paged to the incident.
Once the ambulance arrived, the casualty was handed over into their care and the volunteer crew returned to station.
