RNLI crew and coastguards from Tenby were tasked to help police with a missing person search during the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday (May 31).

Coastguards were first on the scene after being paged by Dyfed-Powys Police, with the person believed to be in the vicinity of the South Beach.

After coastguards liaised with police officers who provided further information, it was decided that due to tidal conditions a shoreline search by the RNLI inshore lifeboat would be required.

The Georgina Taylor was launched at around 12.15 am, and once on the water, the volunteer crew performed a search using both night vision goggles and thermal imaging cameras from Castle Beach, up towards Giltar.

Coastguards co-ordinated a search plan of the beaches and surrounding areas, but after a thorough search and with nobody found, the coastguard and lifeboat crews were stood down.
