An eight-year-old girl was rescued by firemen after climbing onto the roof of her primary school on Monday.

Police and fire crews were called to St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Pembroke Dock shortly before 9.30 am.

The fire service rescued the child using a short extension ladder.

Pembrokeshire County Council said: “This was an isolated incident that was quickly resolved with the help of the police and fire service.”
