Policing teams and the Pembrokeshire Road Policing Units were out in force again yesterday patrolling with one driver issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice caught ‘taking a spin’ down from Neath.

The vehicle was stopped at Kilgetty, where the driver stated he was heading home to Fishguard, but it was soon ascertained by officers from Pembrokeshire’s Road Policing Unit that the motorists had actually come for a spin from Neath, having picked his two passengers up from Ammanford en-route. All three issued with FPNs, and the vehicle was turned around.

Saundersfoot and Tenby police officers and PCSOs were out in force on Tuesday issuing eight fines to people in breach of the Government’s travel restrictions.

“Thank you to those staying home. Patrols will continue across Pembrokeshire to ensure this continues, especially as the Bank Holiday approaches,” stated Chief Inspector Louise Harries on social media.

“Please don’t look for grey areas, or loop holes or get drawn into the debates - it’s a simple message #StayHomeSaveLives.”

“Travelling to Pembrokeshire this Easter for a holiday means you are likely to be stopped and fined - checkpoints are in place,” reaffirmed Police Superintendent for Pembrokeshire Ross Evans.

“Thank you to all staff, partners, our NHS teams and the good people of Pembs for the huge team effort,” he added.
