E-SCOOTERS may look fun and eco-friendly, but privately owned e-scooters cannot be ridden legally in public places in Wales.
This includes roads, pavements, parks and other public spaces. They can only be used on private land, and only with the landowner’s permission.
In the run up to Christmas, Pembrokeshire Council, Dyfed-Powys Police, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Road Safety Wales have teamed up to make sure everyone understands the law and the safety risks.
Because e-scooters are classed as motor vehicles, anyone caught riding one in a public place could face a fine of up to £300, six points on their driving licence and the e-scooter being seized by the police. Other offences can also apply.
