An arrest warrant has been issued for a Polish man who failed to appear in court in Haverfordwest this week, as he is in custody in his home country.

Thirty-four-year-old Lukasz Robert Pawlowski, of Bush Street, Pembroke Dock, failed to appear for a hearing at Haverfordwest magistrates court on Tuesday, to face charges of driving his Vauxhall Astra on November 11 with 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit.

He has also been charged with driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence; using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

Earlier this year, Mr. Pawlowski served two months in jail on remand after slashing his own throat in the dock whilst appearing at the Haverfordwest court on a sexual assault charge.

He was sentenced for the original offence of sexual assault and also possessing a knife in a public place, and made the subject of a three-year community order.

Mr. Pawlowski was also ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for the next five years.

At Tuesday’s hearing, magistrates issued a warrant without bail for Mr. Pawlowski’s arrest to secure his attendance in court.
