Police have confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection with a series of frauds totalling thousands of pounds that were carried out in the Tenby, Saundersfoot and St Florence areas last week.
Dyfed-Powys Police warned business owners and staff in the locality to be extra vigilant following a number of incidents that occurred on Monday, September 2, where a group of travelling criminals targeted premises by using distraction fraud techniques, and managed to refund significant sums of money back onto their credit cards.
CCTV captured from one such premises showed five men enter the Belgrave Hotel in Tenby where they used two separate cards to book a room, before refunding a total of £9,000 onto one of their credit cards.
“An 18-year-old man from Croydon was arrested in Wembley on September 5, on suspicion of fraud by false representation in connection to a series of frauds in the Tenby and Saundersfoot areas. He has been released under investigation while police enquiries continue,” said a police spokesperson
