A Pembroke Dock man who failed to provide a specimen of breath to police officers after he was pulled over in his vehicle, has been disqualified from driving for 52 months.
Haverfordwest magistrates heard how 48-year-old John Davies, of Victoria Road, who has two previous convictions involving excess alcohol to his name, was stopped by police officers in his Jaguar on April 1, after they had witnessed the driver take longer than expected at a set of traffic lights in Monkton.
Officers followed the motorist and stopped him in Pembroke, where a roadside test proved positive. However, after his arrest, Mr. Davies refused to provide a blood sample at Haverfordwest police station.
Magistrates were presented with a pre-sentence probation report before passing sentence on Mr. Davies, who was told that he was lucky not to receive a suspended jail sentence in this instance, as it was his third offence of a similar nature before the court.
He was given a community order for 12 months, banned from driving for 52 months and ordered to pay costs of £85.
