The Under 8s (seen right) were playing their first game on their home ground. After the wet weather, the pitch was a bit heavy and muddy, but the girls really enjoyed the game.
With St. Florence only having three girls and Neyland having nine, the teams were mixed to play six-a-side and it was a very good game played by both sets of players.
Libby managed to score a really good goal. Kate played really well, with some good passing and tackled brilliantly in defence. Pearl played half the game in goal and produced some good saves and when she played out she also played really well.
Under 8s team: Pearl Black, Libby Scowcroft and Kate Joseph.
The Under 10s (seen above) showed great fitness levels to play the full 60 minutes as there were no substitutions. The hard work the girls undertake in training showed in the game with some excellent passing moves.
St. Florence won the game 7-0 following what could be described as a team effort, with the girls showing great attitude and commitment.
Ellie had little to do in goal, but her concentration levels meant she produced a great save in the last minute of the game to keep a clean sheet.
Maddy produced another captain’s performance from midfield and was unlucky not to have a couple of goals. Neve and Sienna were excellent in defence and Neve later in midfield.
Laura worked tirelessly in midfield and produced some excellent passes. Zoe and Bella are really growing in confidence, battling in midfield for the full hour. Ruby and Hettie showed a good partnership up front.
Indeed, Ruby was a constant thorn in Neyland’s side, scoring six goals, while Hettie made some fine dribbling runs and was also rewarded with a goal.
Under 10s team: Ellie, Sienna, Neve, Zoe, Maddy (capt), Bella, Laura, Hettie and Ruby.
